Before your visit

Subtopia is located in Alby in Botkyrka Municipality. You can get here easily by metro, bus or car. 

By public transport

Metro
Red line towards Norsborg, get off at Alby station. Go to the right outside the barriers towards Alby square. Then make a left and follow Albyvägen straight on for about 10 minutes. Turn left onto Rotemannavägen. Are you going to Hangaren? Then carry on for another five minutes on the footpath.

Bus
Line 708 from Tumba, get off at Alby IP.

Road directions by car

Take the E4/E20 south from Stockholm City, or north from Södertälje. Exit right at Alby/Tumba, keep towards Alby. Follow Albyvägen. Road directions on Google maps.

Subtopia’s main building is open from Monday to Friday, from 09.00 to 16.00.

At Subtopia there is both paid and free parking. P-discs must be displayed and can be picked up at reception on Rotemannavägen 10.

Parking at Subtopia’s main building

There are approximately 40 free parking spaces around Subtopia’s main building, all of which require you to display a p-disc. At the Albyvägen/Rotemannavägen junction there is a paid car park with around 80 parking spaces. Payment is by app only.

Parking at HangarenAt Hangaren on Albyvägen there are around 100 parking spaces. Parking is free but you must display a p-disc. It takes about 5 minutes to walk between Subtopia’s main building and Hangaren.

Disabled parking

If you have a disabled parking permit, there are three reserved spaces at the main building and three reserved spaces at Hangaren.

Subtopia’s venues are accessible. The entrance doors are wide. A lift is available. There are accessible toilets. There are contrast markings. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome. Loftet is the only venue with a hearing loop. You can find more information here about accessibility in Subtopia’s main building. 

There is disabled parking at the main building and Hangaren.

Outdoor gallery
At Subtopia there is an outdoor gallery with some 30 works of art made by artists from around the world. There is everything here from stencil art to graffiti and neon art. The gallery is open every day of the year. Everyone who wants to is welcome to walk around the area. It’s free and you don’t need to register. Open graffiti wall
At Subtopia’s main building on Rotemannavägen 10, there is a 10-metre open wall for urban art. Everyone who wants is welcome to paint on the wall, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned professional. The wall is open every day of the year. You don’t need to register to be able to paint on the wall. Bring your own spray paint. Discard used spray cans in the rubbish bin by the wall so we can recycle them.

You are welcome to bring your own food to eat in the restaurant.

Subtopia’s restaurant is located in the main building on Rotemannavägen 10. The venue is open between 09.00 and 16.00. There’s a microwave if you want to heat up your food and you can buy coffee from the coffee machine.

There is currently no food service at Subtopia. A new restaurant is under procurement.

Alby Centrum has a grocery shop and a small selection of restaurants and cafés. It takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk to Alby Centrum from Subtopia. On the other side of Hågelbyleden there is a larger retail area with an ICA Maxi, pharmacy and fast food chains.
