Subcase 2013 – Subtopia Circus Fair

Subcase 2013 presented a 3-day program of shows and work in progress presentations from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. As part in Subtopia´s Swedish-Catalan cooperation, we in addition presented “Catalan Circus on Tour”, introducing three companies from Barcelona!

Subcase took place in Hangaren Subtopia, starting at lunchtime 13 February with an international seminar about touring networks. After the seminar the show program kicked off with 2 performances on Wednesday evening and continued until Friday evening, when Subcase closed with a mingel party at Södra Teatern.

We are very excited about the program this year. A bag full of candy came up!

We had 3 full length shows that just recently premiered: Esther Wrobel new show premiered in Copenhagen, Ruby Rose in Stockholm and Cirkus Cirkör in Marseille – all in late January. There was the brilliant juggling duo Patrik & Wes, and the new show by Chipmunk Forge (directed by Maksim Komaro).

Moreover, work in progress presentations of Race Horse Company new project (a solo with Rauli Kosonen), Agit-Cirk new project with a specially built tent structure, Magmanus new indoor show, as well as the Circus Next laureates Sisters and several other young promising companies. And then we had pitches of new projects of f.ex Circo Aereo. And we presented 3 Catalan projects… and more.

This year our gracious conferencier, guiding us through the 3-day program, was Kajsa Bohlin.
